Summary:

This digicam is my first and if nothing else it has taught me alot about what to look for in my next digicam. My main beef with it is TIME. The thing takes forever to start-up and forever between shots to save images in memory. If you want a camera that will allow you to capture precious moments quickly, DO NOT buy this digicam. If you want a camera to use for posed images or for landscape photography then it'll do fine if you are patient (I am not!). The image quality is pretty good and the software is simple to use.

Strengths:

Good image quality. Solid construction. Intuitive software.

Weaknesses:

Very slow to start up (I clocked it at ~12 seconds). Very long lag between shots. Goes into standby mode too quickly. No lens cap. Fairly high energy consumption.

Summary:

This is my first experience with a digital camera. Understanding this is a mid-level entry in the pixel derby, I am mostly satisfied with the camera to this point. I like the portability of the camera and believe that the menu is easy to understand and work through. I am not happy with the slow shutter speed and lack of ability to capture action shots. Slightest movements result in some blurriness. Not having a lens cover is like deliberately leaving your umbrella at home in a monsoon. This is a good camera for first time digerati and is excellent for general use.

Strengths:

Ease of Use Good quality exposures portability Easy to understand Menu items

Weaknesses:

Not good at all with action shots. Somewhat slow shutter speed No lens cover

Customer Service:

Only one time contacted and not very helpful.

Summary:

i got this camera last christmas. the first day, i had to go buy another mouse, since this camera uses the primary serial port to download to your pc. i used it for 9 months and kept thinking i'd get better at taking digital pictures. never happened. 2 out of 3 shots were terrible. you can review them quickly and easily, but you can't always recapture the "moment".the software is great. i used to it to sharpen my images. i did have to upgrade my printer to a more expensive photo quality (recomend:Epson Photo 700). another $300. perhaps i was so disappointed because this was my first digital experience. maybe they are all crappy. scanning the 35mm shots was definitely a hassle, but much better quality. finally after 9 months of frustration, my LCD stopped working. I was able to use the view finder for another week or two. then the picture quality went downhill very fast (i didn't think it possible). i guess the whole camera was freaking out. i sent it to panasonic. they only have 1 year parts warranty - no labor warranty. they wanted $90 just to tell me the problem. i'm not sure if fixing it would have given an extended warranty on the repairs. i should have asked. i didn't get it fixed. i took it back to the store and got another camera. i'll keep you posted on its performance!

Strengths:

convenience of immediately seeing your photos. strong battery life for a digital camera. had to recharge after each "outing", but I used the LCD lots. photodeluxe is an awesome software to doc your pix up.

Weaknesses:

the warranty. 1 yr parts, but no labor warranty. they wanted $90 to tell me the problem with a 9 month old camera. pictures were terrible compared to 35mm point and shoot. mostly blurred.

Summary:

This is my first digital camera that I've owned. I've been fairly impressed with the image quality, though the camera is lacking when it comes to cancelling out image blurring. I have an unsteady hand when it comes to taking a picture, and the shutter speed isn't fast enough to prevent blurring when I take close ups. Also, the distinct lack of a power supply was rather disappointing (and the fact that they have the gall to charge -70- dollars for it) All in all, a good camera for the money.

Strengths:

High pixel count image, time lapse and other "formats"

Weaknesses:

Too easy to blur shots, lack of AC adaptor, lack of case.

Summary:

Now at a good proce for $250.00. Barely magapixel, but megapixel. Handy size and detachable flash are very nice. There are better cameras, but not for the money now. Panasonic is mostlikely discontinuing this model.

Strengths:

Price Bundled media Weight picture quality Detachable flash

Weaknesses:

LCD Washout outside No red eye reduction or flash strength No tripod mount Slow recycle time cradle dependent for download
