Review 1 of 7

Price Paid:  $99.00 from PC World (UK£ not $)

Summary:

A lovely little camera, known as the C2 in the UK and D230 everywhere else it seems... Can connect to directly to the USB port, but be aware, it'll use the batteries to do so and suck even more out of them! Buy a card reader! Does 20 shots at 1600x1200 and 37 at 1024x768 which performs nicely with your bog standard 35mm camera. I'd use this one til it breaks, but I've decided to upgrade to an Olympus C7x0uz because I've got more and more into photography as a result of this little bargain! Defintely recommended. If it had optical zoom it'd be a 5 star camera...

Strengths:

Lovely shots Good res Nice and Light AA Batteries Smartmedia Memory Card

Weaknesses:

Sucks the hell of out batteries - by recharges! No optical zoom (only Digital)

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Walmart

Summary:

Easy to use point and shoot. Even my 3yr. old granddaughter has fun taking good shots. Easy fun inexpensive way to take lots of pictures. Process only the pictures that are good. Olylmpus D-230 takes good quality pictures that many times only need small enhancments in Photoshop for great 8x10 portraits.

Strengths:

Ease of use. great quality for a 2 megpix camera

Weaknesses:

battery hog. get nimh rechargables and a card reader. Or a printer with a card reader.

Similar Products Used:

Review 3 of 7

Price Paid:  $115.00 from Walmart

Summary:

Wanting a 4 megapixel camera, I spotted this little cheapie at walmart at a price not to be passed up. Great resolution for its size, and easy to download with the included software. Seems pretty bulletproof, as I have dropped it many times with no problem. Ease of use is great, in fact my 4 year old uses it on occassion.

Strengths:

Ease of use. Great shots and resolution. Great price.

Weaknesses:

Batteries. This thing eats them like Wheaties. If you buy it, get rechargables, or buy stock in Eveready.

Similar Products Used:

Various

Customer Service:

For this price, who cares. If it breaks, just pitch it in the trash!!!

Review 5 of 7

Price Paid:  $174.00 from Walmart

Summary:

I LOOOOVE this camera. :D It has so many great options for taking pictures! This is a great travel camera.

Strengths:

In low light it takes good pics with or without the flash. Small and compact, it's easy to carry in a pocket, purse, or small travel case.

Weaknesses:

It takes a bit of fiddling with to get all the functions to work the way you want. You really need to be fairly literate with electronics to get the hang of this camera. I think they could have made the guide a bit more clear. It's not "hard" to read perse but it is fairly complex for the newbee in electronics.
