Nikon Lite Touch Zoom 140 ED/QD

MSRP: $ 310.00

Description: The Lite-Touch Zoom 140 ED/QD features a 3.7x zoom lens, with an impressive zoom range of 38-140mm. It offers the flexibility to get both close to the action when subjects are in the distance and to zoom out to fit in the objects when taking group photos or shooting in close proximity. For perhaps the sharpest pictures available in a compact camera, the Lite-Touch Zoom 140 ED/QD incorporates Nikon's ED glass to provide vivid color and contrast.

Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Wolf

Summary:
I bought this camera on a whim before I got seriously interested in photography. I've always regarded it as a bit of a mistake.... But I just took it on a trip to Japan as its more self contained than a digital. No need for a battery charger or memory cards... I gotta say I'm pretty thrilled with the pictures... :-) I think I'll be using it as my main travel camera from now on. Get one before film point and shoots go extinct!

Strengths:
It takes great night pictures if you turn the flash off and set it to landscape/infinite focus mode.

Weaknesses:
Lens can be a bit slow, so use a mini tripod and the self timer. I think its ugly... Gold with gold trim. Blech. Reminds me of a lexus SUV....

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $350.00 from Ritz Camera

Summary:
Very unhappy with the quality of the pictures. The autofocus does not appear to be working accurately, pictures are not sharp. Also, the photos seem washed out. Took the camera back to the store and showed pictures with those taken with my old (sadly broken) Yashica. Had the store run prints off with their equipment. This camera, even with it's much touted lense, cannot match the pic's from a 5 year old Yashica with plastic lenses.

Strengths:
Zoom power for size Brand name

Weaknesses:
Overall picture quality

Yashica Pentax 80mm point and shoot Pentax ME Super

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $185.00 from Don''s Photo - Winni

Summary:
I bought this Camera to replace my SLR on Vacation - I didn''t want my SLR at the beach and/or the Jungle. I expected sub-par performance compared to my SLR, but was pleasently supprised to find that I worked better than expected. (I never thought I''s own a point-and-shoot) The fit-and-finish of this camera is excellent, styling is excellent, Lens is great. I bought the non-date model (never did like the date on my pictures).

Strengths:
Great Lens Great Pics all around great little camera

Weaknesses:
Slow red eye-reduction feature.

Similar Products Used:
new to the point and shoot. (have used onlt SLR''s in the past)
