Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $700.00 from Adorama?

Summary:
Great lens. Sharp. Great color and contrast. Huge image circle. Loses no sharpness when tilted, as opposed to the Fujis which fall apart when tilted. (I'm uncertian on price and dealer, as I bought it about 22 years ago.)

Strengths:
Optical performance. Small size.

Weaknesses:
slow (f9). Needs a lot of bellows extension (18" +)

Similar Products Used:
Symmars, Caltars, Fujis

Customer Service:
never needed it

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $1600.00 from Sydney Australia

Summary:
A remarkably compact long lens. If your camera has the required bellows draw ( about 500 mm) then this is much smaller, sharper and less expensive than a telephoto type lens.

Strengths:
Excellent sharpness and contrast, huge image circle. 67 mm filters. Very compact, packs away easily. Works beautifully on my Ebony SV45Ti.

Weaknesses:
None

Similar Products Used:
Other Nikkor large format lenses.

Customer Service:
Not required

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $1000.00 from Linhof&Studio London

Summary:
I use this lens on a Linhof Master Technika 2000 by mounting it on a Wista Extension Tube. The tube does vignette with extreme movements but I can live with that for the sake of rigidity and portablity and stunning image quality achievable. The Nikkor-M 450 has so impressed me that I am about to purchase the Nikkor-M 300mm.

Strengths:
Image Circle and outstanding performance in a tiny package that uses moderate sized filters

Weaknesses:
None

Similar Products Used:
Apo-Symmar 480mm

Customer Service:
No back-up service has been required

Review 4 of 4

Summary:
I do not doubt that this lens would do well in regular applications, as well as high magnification copy work.

Strengths:
Very sharp, I have only used it for large-format (20" roll film) graphic arts negatives (halftones).

Weaknesses:
none

Similar Products Used:
none

Customer Service:
never had to use it
