    Review 1 of 36

    Price Paid:  $360.00 from DBuys.com

    Summary:
Camera performs very well, comapred with cameras on the same league. Easy to use, delivers consistenly the expected quality of images. It is a little bit slow, and for low light situations a tripod/monopod is a must. The swivel lens allows for "creative" shots, and the camera design does not scare people. Zoom is quite good too.

    Strengths:
    - Easy to use, yet it allows for full manual control of important features (WB, exposure mode, exposure compensatio, focus, flash power). For intermediate or casual photographer is excellent. - Light, compact, easy to pack on a trip. - Zoom is very handy.

    Weaknesses:
    - Slow in low light situations - Noise in high ISO may be significant (but can be corrected when post processing) - WB in auto for incandescent light is a disaster, but using incandescent or manual preset works.

    Review 2 of 36

Price Paid:  $495.00 from family photo

    Summary:
I was hesitant to purchase this camera at first wanting to get a bigger, nicer digital. This camera sure surpassed my expectations. I have printed 11x14's from the normal output on I have gotten outstanding results.

    Strengths:
easy to use and navigate in.

    Weaknesses:
a little slow on the shutter. It takes just a second to actually take the photo from the time you press the shutter. I wish it were easier to erase unwanted photos. That takes as long as taking the photos.

    Customer Service:
    outstanding customer service from Nikon!!!

    Review 3 of 36

Price Paid:  $400.00 from local dealer

    Summary:
An outstanding performer, with constant sharpness at all focal lenghts. The swivel capability helps a lot in getting close to those hard to focus subjects. Matrix metering is just as perfect as in the F80, same with spot metering accuracy. Color depth/richness is just awesome, that it even outperforms quality I get from Velvia and Provia films. The TC-E2 teleconverter is a must for close-ups and macro subjects.

    Strengths:
Outstanding lens External Flash capability Easy-to-use command dials Extremely accurate metering (matrix and spot)

    Weaknesses:
Build quality (more plastic than metal)

    Similar Products Used:
    Nikon F80 Canon S-300

    Customer Service:
Very accomodating and always supportive, although I never needed servicing so far.

    Review 4 of 36

Price Paid:  $599.00 from Best Buy

    Summary:
The camera took excellent pictures. I tried it at full (3.34 megpix) and at the 2 mp rating. I was very impressed with the 2 mp and was able to print photo quality 8 x 10 photos. I even took a 2mp photo and croped about 1/4 size and them blew it up to 8 x 10 and still got a good picture - a little blurry, but could pick out the runner for the different schools.

    Strengths:
Simple to use has many manual modes Good battery life. quality pictures and good color

    Weaknesses:
The feel of the camera when you used the eye piece to locate and take picture. Limited telephoto zoom

    Similar Products Used:
    Sony Macivia 1 mp cameras

    Customer Service:
    NA

    Review 5 of 36

    Price Paid:  $549.00 from Family

    Summary:
The 995 is, simply put an awsome camera. I use it along side my Nikon F100, N70 and N6006. It will use my regular flashes with the adapter....no need to purchase those "digital" flashes. The filters and lenses are nice features. I print out 8x12''''''''''''''''s and they look extremely nice. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a reliable digital camera.

    Strengths:
Small and very easy to learn. Uses any dedicated flash. Fully automatic OR fully MANUAL.

    Weaknesses:
I would like to see NIKON develope a digital SLR in this price range....wishful thinking...right???!!!!

    Similar Products Used:
    ONLY NIKON for ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Customer Service:
I have NEVER had to use the customer service for ANY of my NIKON equipment...THANKS, NIKON!!!!!!!!!
