Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $1500.00 from Ebay

Summary:
Superb lens. Build quality, mechanics and optics are perfect. Distortion and vignetting are low, contrast and resolution is very high. The smaller aperture is no problem, because you get f/2.8 with 21 and 24 mm lenses mostly with softer areas in the corners and vignetting. So this lens is very sharp and perfect for landscape and outdoor photography in general. It is a little bit harder to focus this lens correctly. I'm also using a Leica M6 with the new Elmarit-M 21 asph., and here the focussing is much easier. Here you can see and experience the advantage of rangefinder cameras, although it is a little bit harder to keep the horizon horizontal ! The 21-35 is the perfect companion for my 4/35-70 and my 70-180 (or 80-200). It is much better than my Elmarit-R 2.8/24. It is not cheap, but worth the money because you get what you pay for. And here, you'll get a mechanical and optical masterpiece ! Get it !

Strengths:
Optical and mechanical quality - just a perfect tool !

Weaknesses:
nothing ! The smaller aperture is no real weakness as you gain sharpness and high contrast with it while keeping the weight low !

Similar Products Used:
Elmarit-M 21/2.8 asph, Elmarit-R 24/2.8

Customer Service:
Perfect. Fast, friendly, efficient ! At least here in Germany
