Review 1 of 6

Summary:
This is the exact same camera as the Fuji MX-1700(except for the cosmetics) but the computer program is slightly better. The camera is simple to figure out, easy to use, takes GREAT photos and fits anywhere. So far I have used it on the ski slopes and the mountain bike trails with no problems. The program is also very easy to install and use. The camera has a rechargeable battery so you will never have to purchase batteries (this saves quite a bit of $$ over time) and it has a built-in lens cover so you cannot lose it. Shots are great, both indoor and out, but the flash is not that great at more than a few feet away from the subject. Moving shot are clear the color is great. The down side is that a card reader is an ABSOLUTE MUST!!!!! You will get old and grey if you try and download your pictures without the card reader. If you use the card reader, downloads will take only a few seconds. The difference is night and day! A camera case is not included and you will want one to keep the camera clean. You will also need to by a bigger memory card. I use a 32mb card and get 96 great photos at the regular setting. The internal zoom is very good as is the optical zoom. If you purchase the card reader and the larger memory card you will have a very good camera. If you do not want to spend the extra money, you will be disappointed. Last, the camera is designed for one hand use. You will find it easy to operate but if you ask someone else to take a picture for you, most likely that person will put his/her finger over the flash. You will be constantly giving instruction on how to hold the camera. Over all it's a great camera and would buy it again!

Strengths:
Small, re-chargable batteries, great shots, take it anywhere, easy to use.

Weaknesses:
Super slow downloads unless you buy the card reader, useless 8 mb memory card, no carrying case.

Similar Products Used:
Fuji MX 1700, Kodak DC-280 (this is a better camera but is MUCH bigger and therefore useless for an outdoor enthusiast).

Customer Service:
Luckily. I have not had to find out!

Summary:
This feather-weight slips into your pocket, refuses to linger in the drawer. The grip is better than the Fuji MX 1700 which is in the interior of this cam. The software is Adobe PHOTOSHOP LE which is much more powerful than the software that goes with the Fuji.

Strengths:
Software, construction and weight. Bautifully balanced omages.

Weaknesses:
No USB yet.

Similar Products Used:
Fuji MX -1700

Review 3 of 6

Summary:
Although 1.5 megapixels, this camera is capable of some great stuff. Fuji by manufacture (and taking nothing away from Fuji!), it lives up to the branding given by Leica. The construction and optics are excellent, the touch and feel is exquisite and once studied thoroughly, this small camera is a delight to use! I only wish a 16mb smartcard could be supplied instead of the 8mb. For the money - hard to beat!!

Strengths:
Quality of construction Sharpness Ease of use

Weaknesses:
-8mb smartcard supplied instead of 16mb. -Case not supplied with camera -Flash a bit weak

Similar Products Used:
None

Customer Service:
Not experienced leicas service on this one so far

Review 4 of 6

Summary:
My basic problem is that I doubt that Leica makes this camera in the first place. Leica makes perhaps the best cameras in the world, but this one is made by FUJI of Japan.

Strengths:
Superb construction

Weaknesses:
1.5 megpix is kind of out of date, however, keep in mind that memory usage is quite good at this setting.

Similar Products Used:
Fuji, models (m700) appears to be the same camera.

Customer Service:
very good
