Review 1 of 16

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
This film has excellent color, but for some reason it's grainy like a 400 speed film. I bought a few rolls of this to take out to the Mojave Desert thinking I would capture some clear, sharp vistas. Well, this film does have good definition and great, vibrant color, but it's grainy on top of that. It's actually an interesting look if that's what you're going for. I'll stick with Reala and Gold 100, though.

Strengths:
Vibrant colors, sharpness Cheap

Weaknesses:
400-speed grain in a 100-speed film. What's the deal?

Kodak Gold 100 Fuji Reala 100

Review 2 of 16

Price Paid:  $2.00 from Walmart

Summary:
An enhanced color film, found cheap everywhere. Grain is what Id expect from a 200 asa emulsion. Reds and yellows super pumped, greens and blues normal. Not nearly as bad as most say, however the contrast is very high and causes shadows to be blocked out quite often.

Strengths:
enhanced reds and yellows

Weaknesses:
grainy, blocked out shadows

Gold 100

Review 3 of 16

Price Paid:  $2.00 from Target

Summary:
Not a bad film for the price. I scanned some negatives and printed on inkjet. 8.5x11 is about as big as you can get with this film and even that is pushing it. Requires quite a bit of enhancement in Photoshop to bring out the colors. A bit grainy for the ISO 100 rating. Fun to play with but not for the serious photographer.

Strengths:
Price. Nice greens. Good for web photo display.

Weaknesses:
Grainy. Limited to 4x6 5x7 prints.

Review 4 of 16

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
This is the WORST film I have ever used in my entire life. Had 2 rolls developed and threw the other 2 I had away. The color is VERY DULL and is not sharp AT ALL. the grain is HORRIBLE, looks like 1600 speed film almost. Do not even try night shots with this film, it is a joke. Stay away from this film unless youre just shooting snapshots at a party or something. Wish I could give it zero stars.

Strengths:
NONE

Weaknesses:
EVERYTHING, GRAIN GRAIN GRAIN GRAIN GRAIN, DULL COLOR, FAR FAR FAR FROM BEING SHARP

Too grainy when enlarged
