Review 1 of 8

Price Paid:  $4000.00 from B&H Photo

Model Reviewed:
Fuji 3500

Summary:
I've had no problems with this printer at all. It prints beautiful pictures, the best I've seen from any printer. I haven't had to call tech support after the first installation.

Strengths:
Picture quality is unbeatable. Speed it great.

Weaknesses:
It does't come with a good raster program and the printer sometimes holds up the computer.

Review 2 of 8

Price Paid:  $3500.00

Model Reviewed:
3500

Summary:
Overall it's a good printer when it works right. Tech is support is absolutely terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! An emergency call to them is about a week to get back to you. The software, which if you call they know nothing about and have NO support for what so ever, stinks!!! They treat you like you did something bad to them. Very bad experience still going on.

Strengths:
Nice consistant prints, when in working condition.

Weaknesses:
Size, expensive donor and parts, the worst support ever, and I mean ever!!!

Review 3 of 8

Price Paid:  $4000.00 from USA

Model Reviewed:
Fuji Pictrography 3500

Summary:
The prints are great! Fuji finally learned something from HP. It gives you a printer probably at a loss, then it grabs you by the balls for the paper and donor. The cost of material is around $3 for an 8x10. The prints are of consistent quality. To get it to work initally was like pulling teeth from Fuji. I couldn't get any help until I threatened to return the printer. But once it starts to work, you need to do very little. However, I can never figure out what is UC and what is CE. I can only print up to 10.748" x 8.268" although B&H says you can print up to 12x8. Fuji USA sales and support are mostly worthless. I am surprised they get paid. Japanese software, as usual, is also worthless. Plug and play means very little to them.

Strengths:
Easy to use, consistent quality.

Weaknesses:
Supplies are expensive. Support is none. Software quality is like what we used to have 40 years ago. Never explained what CE or UC meant.

Similar Products Used:
There is nothing like it.

Review 4 of 8

Price Paid:  $5200.00 from Spash Of Color

Model Reviewed:
FUJI Pictrography 3500

Summary:
WOW!!! We use ours with Macs for doing portrait and wedding color and B&W package printing, commercial glossy prints and most anything that is 8x10 or under. In less than two hours we installed this machine, the software and were running test circles!! Amazing!! For years we ran our own in-house color lab with package printers, enlargers, mini -printers, Sitte-Tischer EP2 roll paper processor, JOBO film tanks...shooting with RBs and Hasselblads.... Images shot with a Canon D30 and printer on the 3500 are BETTER than any conventional film images... Need I say more....

Strengths:
Great quality as long as digital files are exposed correctly. SPITS OUT 8x10s in under a minute, all day long.

Weaknesses:
Donor material is still expensive, but all things considered and 8x10 costs around 2 bucks to produce.

Similar Products Used:
Epson 7500, Epson Stylus PHOTO converted to duotone archival B&W.

Review 5 of 8

Price Paid:  $6450.00 from Hannagraphics, Houston, TX.

Summary:
Awesome printer. I only hope the prints will last a long time so my customers won't end up calling me in a few years to complain of fading or color shifts. Hannagraphics in Houston, Tx., did a fine job in selling the product to me. Great people! Get Packagizer (expensive) program to go with the printer. It works great and is really cool!

Strengths:
Image quality is superb! Fast printing. Very sharp, tack sharp in fact!

Weaknesses:
Big, bulky and HEAVY! Wish it connected to a Firewire. But SCSI works fine.

Similar Products Used:
None

Customer Service:
Sales team just plain sucks. Had no obvious training in selling the item. I had to get my information from other photographers. Guess the product just sells itself. Asked for samples from Fuji, but they only sent me a brochure.
