from 17th Street Photo (o Summary: This is my 1st experience shopping for and buying a digital camera. I wanted something small and easily portable that still took good pictures. Mostly for e-mail purposes. I also didn't want to spend very much on my 1st camera as I plan on getting a better one down the road. The Fuji FinePix 2600 seemed to fit the bill. Overall, I seem to have made a wise choice. It is small and easy to tote around. The picture quality is outstanding. Don't be thrown off by the LCD display, it isn't representative of the picture quality. The lady at the shop where I get my prints made made a point to come out and talk to me and ask what kind of camera I have. She said they were some of the best she has seen out of the thousands she sees every day. That is a pretty good endorsement. Strengths: GREAT picture quality, esp. for a 2 mp camera. Easy to use. Small, easy to tote. Lots of flash modes. Macro mode works very well. Use good NiMH batteries and the camera provides good battery life. A great 1st digital camera, esp. for beginners. Fuji has a winner here. Weaknesses: It is made of plastic and seems a little fragile, although nothing has broken. The battery cover is easily bumped open. LCD is very hard to see in bright light and viewfinder lines up your shot differently than LCD does. Use LCD when possible. Similar Products Used: None. Customer Service: No experience with Fuji. 17th Street Photo was great to work with.
