Review 1 of 59

Price Paid:  $250.00 from Local Camera Store

Summary:
Great camera bottom line. For the money this camera is as good as any other camera. We have taken well over 3000 pictures and we absolutely love it. If you're looking for a high end perfect camera look elsewhere. If you're looking for a fantastic, reliable, rugged camera that will take thousands of very nice pictures buy this one. You will not be disappointed.

Strengths:
Overall picture quality is good but low light this camera suffers. I typically don't take pictures unless the flash is on.

Weaknesses:
Low light pictures. Pictures with very much motion. Shutter speed is slow. Comes with a 16 Meg card that only holds 8 pics at the highest resolution. I bought a 64-meg card that will now hold 82 pictures at the high-res setting.

Similar Products Used:
None.

Customer Service:
I have no experience. (which is good) I haven't had to make a single call to Fuji. The camera has been EXTREMELY reliable.

Review 2 of 59

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Jacobs, Leeds UK

Summary:
I am very happy with this camera. Color prints come out very good. I always use Fine resolution at 1600x1200.

Strengths:
Portability. Battery life is OK when not using LCD screen. Excellent color.

Weaknesses:
Barreling on unzoomed lens - straight edges come out rounded.

Review 3 of 59

Price Paid:  $319.00 from www.tristatecamera.c

Summary:
I am only an amateur photographer. I bought the FinePix 2400 because it seemed to be a compact digital camera that I could use in my world travels. My camera was stolen from my car 3 weeks ago, but I did enjoy it for a year-and-a-half.

Strengths:
Price. I purchased mine in November 2000 at $319.00. Other cameras in its class, with similar features were $50-150 more in price.

Weaknesses:
Battery life is brutal! I found that if I shoot on batteries with low life, all my shots are out of focus. The natural colour balance is a little on the blue side... I often need to correct this with my photoeditor

Review 5 of 59

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
There was been enough reviews written about the good points on the 2400, so I''ll concentrate on what I think are it''s weaknesses. Don''t think that I''m saying the 2400 isn''t good just becos I''m only writing about it''s weaknesses. The camera is not very useful for taking pictures without the use of flash in low to medium light conditions as the max apaerture is only f3.5 and sensitivity rated at ISO 100. There is usually a color cast present on these images, and changing the white balance has little effect on the color cast. Fortunately, the color cast can be removed by programs like Photoshop, but the process is tedious to get the color right. Max shutter speed is only 0.5 sec, so it limits night shots beyond the range of the flash. The shutter lag time is very slow, Imaging Resource times it at 0.39sec. Assuming you have prefocused by half pressing the shutter, the camera will only take the picture 0.39s after you fully press the shutter. Trying to photo anything that moves is quite difficult. In comparison, the Olympus D-510, an equivalent model, has a shutter lag of only 0.13s. Continuous shooting only works for 640x480 - this is quite a useless size unless you only intend to post the images on the web. No Video out link - can''t sit around TV to view pictures with family. No Movie mode - even though you think that you might not need this initially, it does come in handy occasionally. Small LCD screen, pictures are quite grainy. Battery indicator is useless if you''re using NiMH batteries - the camera just dies suddenly even when the indicator says that the batteries are full

None

Weaknesses:
None
