Summary:

This camera takes amazing pictures. Rarely do I have an under or overexposed picture. The resolution is great. I can print 4x6 photos that look just as good as a real photograph. I haven't tried anything bigger yet. Yes, the downloading is slow, but I purchased a Smart card USB reader and it is blazingly fast. To the guy that dropped his - To bad for you, you should be more careful. Anything that I pay $500 for I handle with great care and wear the wrist strap or neck strap. This thing is heavy, but it is built like a tank.

Strengths:

Great color and resolution

Weaknesses:

hard to see view finder in sunshine.

Summary:

I loved this camera while I owned it. It was stolen from me while on the beach in Jamaica... Fabuloust pictures, great screen resolution, the 4 time stepped screen zoom made it fun for immediat picture review. I had many a laugh with friends after running a slide show on the TV. I was very impressed with the great photo resolution that takes outdoor photo's very well.

Strengths:

Picture res. and color qual. light weight. relatively inexpensive.

Weaknesses:

Size- a little big and bulky snap time- between cicking the picture and the camera taking it- not super with action photos. Long time to download pics through cable but with the smart card floppy addaptor it is quick

Summary:

MX-600Z is a wonderful product, can be used for those fellow digital photographer (manual mood), also for our beginner (auto mood).

Strengths:

Its ion power is a good supply. The lens is zoomable, and operation is quite easy.

Weaknesses:

Who programed the driver for MX-600Z? He should be fired. His software cannot upload all photoes automaticly. I have to upload all photoes one by one, you know, I am using 16M smartmedia. Sometimes, I have to stay for half an hour to upload all the picture. Damn it!

Review 5 of 13

Summary:

The MX-600ZOOM has worked well for me but has its limitations. While the price is right, I quickly found myself wishing I had sprung for a better model. You can forget taking pictures of city scapes at night, as the shutter speed only goes down to 1/25 sec (c'mon Fuji, how hard is it to give us more than that?) and you can pretty much forget taking any action shots as well, as the camera takes a long time to meter and focus once you press the button. The software is a shame, I quickly grew tired of waiting 2 min per photo to upload into my computer and forked over another $80 for the smart card reader. To add to the pain of uploading without the reader, I found no way to upload the entire card automatically (so I could go rent a movie or something.) Instead, I had to sit there and double click another thumbnail every 2 minutes . On the bright side, the camera does really well in bright light. Sunsets are not daunting though I wish the lens had threads so I could attach some filters. Perhaps the camera's strongest point (if you are going to use it for snapshots and aren't really seriously into photography) is it's battery. Thank you Fuji for not skimping and providing a lithium ion battery that charges inside the camera itself. The battery lasts forever, and charges in 7 hours. In truth, it was the battery that forced my descision to overlook the comparable Olympus zoom (450Z?) which uses four AA batteries, and we all know about the problems with rechargeable AA batteries. Overall, I would reccomend this camera to beginner and intermediate photographers who like to take snapshots of their friends, family, and the places they go on vacation (as long as its during the day.) One tip: always use the cloudy white ballance setting, you'll get much better color replication.

Strengths:

Price: $399 Ritz Camera Compact size Battery and life Ease of use Adjustable EV metering Several white ballance modes Video output jack

Weaknesses:

SLOW Only ships w/4MB memory Software is a downright shame No USB port Annoying ready light in rangefinder No flash hot shoe LCD impossible to see in bright light 1/25 sec is slowest shutter speed Sensitive to vibrations (forget rock concerts)
