Works well with my EOS Elan 7 & 7E's. Color, contrast and sharpness were much better than expected, and don't leave me wishing for L glass. If I do my job, this lens is capable of pro looking results. | pavers wellington Weakness:

This lens CAN make sharp and contrasty images when stopped down to f/8-11. But...: Weakness:
...that makes it more or less unusable for most applications: You simply cannot handhold this lens at any focal-lenght above 70mm stopped down to where sharpness is acceptable, unless the full midday sun is shining directly on your subject. Above 200mm it is also way softer than below, and even stopping down to f/16 trying to fix it is futile. Unless you're a tripod-shooter, that really likes a challenge, get the 70-300 VR!
