Strength:
Price/performance ratio can't be beat. Metal mount! Comes with lens hood that is reversible. Light lens with out feeling too cheap. Great for back yard bird/critter watching (within 30 feet). I've taken some full frame shots of squirrels that are very nice. Lens cap is easily removed with lens hood on!
Weakness:
There are not too many. It could be a tad sharper, but then it would cost more. IT is very usable as is. I'm not going to say the speed is a weakness as you are buying a f4 lens. If you want to shoot low light go pay for a f2.8. Decent entry level extended zoom. Plenty sharp for consumer use. Take the MACRO feature with a grain of salt though. 4.9ft min focus and does NOT make this a macro lens by any stretch of the imagination. Smooth zoom ring though. Of the plastic zooms I have handled this one is decent. Focus ring is a tad rough but still not as bad as some other plastic lenses I have handled. Customer Service I have not used it.
