Casual
Strength:
Very good zoom capabilities.
Weakness:
None that I have experienced. I've had two of these. The first one met a unfortunate demise, as in someone needed it worse than I did! I took many pictures with it and never had a problem with it. It took very good pictures. There wasn't nothing I didn't like about it. So, when I needed another digital camera, I went back to the one I knew I could trust. I purchased the z700 again and, again, have had no problems with it. I trust this camera for doing what it says it will do. I have the camera dock, etc. to use with

Strength:
-A longer than average 5x optical zoom -Ease of use. One of the best menu systems I've seen. -Good feel in the hand (subjective, of course) -AA batteries -Useful dock extension (sold seperately) that makes for a painless recharge and transfer of pictures. -16mb on board "emergency" space
Weakness:
-Offers minimal manual controls -pictures don't come out as crisp as I would have wanted -Will leave you wanting more if you are more than just a point and click shooter. When I was shopping for a replacement to my old Canon s40 I was looking for something with a bit more than the regular 3x optical zoom. Since my shooting often happens of the fly an Image Stabilizer of some sort would have been nice in some of those 10x zooms out there, so I found this baby with a 5x optical zoom. I've been very happy with it as it takes good crisp photos, and has been blur free on most telephoto shots. All in all I've been quite happy with the camera, though I will soon be looking for one that offers more manual controls than this has to offer. Similar Products Used: Canon S40 |
