Strength:
Convenient zoom range. Very sharp. Very reasonable price for such a lens. Roughly one third the price of the Mamiya 67 counterpart.
Weakness:
Big and heavy with slow f5.6 aperture. A well built, very sharp zoom lens of very convenient focal ranges, at a very reasonable price. Customer Service So far, very disappointing. When I purchased the lens at B&H about a year ago, the lens was packaged with the wrong Pentax lens hood - the one for the wide angle zoom (although it does fit) and not the proper one for this lens, with the slot for using a polarizing filter with the lens hood attached. I immediately called Pentax. They said they would call me when they figured out how to get the proper lens hood to me. It is one year later and they have never responded. Similar Products Used: Never used a medium format zoom before. However, I can say that optically, the zoom compares favorably with Pentax fixed focal length lenses. |
